Robert Muchamore is an English writer with experience as a private investigator, the first book in the cherub series was written in 2004. This story came about when he found out that his nephew in Australia could not find any novels that he liked to read. He tried writing a story he would have liked as a teenager and from their came the cherub Series.

The Cherub Series goes through the life of James Choke (James Adams), a normal 11 year old boy with anger issues and a mother who runs Britain's largest Theft trade. When James gets sent home early one day after hurting a girl at school he finds his step father is back and his mother is drunk, James life is about to change forever.
In the first book recruit the story follows how James comes to cherub and basic training and his first mission. The rest of the series follows on through his time at cherub, his punishments and his missions.

This is an amazing series, if you enjoyed Alex Rider then you certainly will love these books. The series is more for the teenage boys out there packed with action but I also recommend this book to girls who love the bad boys and spy novels. Although the books do tent to drift of in some places it is still a fantastic series recommended to readers 11- 18 years.
